about

Written after the sudden loss of my last remaining childhood friend Brian, I found myself reminiscing about simpler times. When music, favourite bands, getting drunk and going crazy were the only things that mattered.

What critics are saying:

"I said in my last review and if I must, I will say it again. This is one artist who is producing some of the best modern take on fused classic and punk rock to come out of this country in a very long time."

"Older fans of many different musical tastes from vintage Slade to bands like the Wildhearts (who are namechecked in the chorus) will instantly fall in love with this record and I’m betting younger fans will love the passion, honesty and cool musicianship displayed throughout."

The Accidental Reviewer

Even CJ Wildheart has said it's a great song, with a great chorus and he loves the lyrics! Which given the Wildhearts inspired chorus lyrics, sums up just how well Dev captured the emotions needed for this song.

lyrics

Sixteen going on sixty, feeling unstoppable
Making our way at an innocent age was improbable

So we played a few shows
Put some racket up our nose
There was no way it couldn't last?

But the good times go and the bad times come around fast

"Loving the sound of the last gang in town"

With the Wildhearts playing
We were drinking every night
We were doing alright,
Living that life

I was hungry then
But I'm starving now
Doing alright
Living that life

Now I'm doing alright but I miss that life

Life?
Well don't get me started.

Half the struggle is learning how to live when you're broken hearted

I was drunk
I was high
I was learning how to die
I was spending every day in the sea

I thought no one in the world could ever be better than me

"Loving the sound of the last gang in town"

With the Wildhearts playing
We were drinking every night
We were doing alright,
Living that life

Now I'm doing alright, but I miss that life
